Oryol region is one of the regions of Russia. The area of Oryol region is 24,700 sq. km. which is 0.14% of Russia's total. It?s population is 910,300 people, 63% of which is urban and 37% is rural population. The region consists of 23 districts, 3 cities of regional subordination, 4 cities of district subordination and 14 work settlements. It is located on the Middle Russian height of the European part of Russia, and borders Bryansk, Kaluga, Tula, Lipetsk and Kursk regions. The length of the region from the north to the south is over 150 km and the width is more than 200 km.
