About the Russian Far East

The International gateways are Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Magadan with weekly flights to Anchorage on the Magadan Airlines, Mavial.
Khabarovsk, Vladivostok and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk have regular international flights to Japan, South Korea and China operated by Asiana, Korean Airlines, Shanghai Airlines, Dal Avia, Vlad Avia and SAT Sakhalin Airlines.
The are domestic flight connections to the Republic of Sakha-Yakutia Yakutsk, Lensk, Mirniy, Chukotka Anadyr, Provedenia, Pevek and Uelen, Sakhalin Island to Yuznno-Sakhalinsk, Oha and Nogliki, Kuril Island to Yuzhno-Kurilsk and Burevestnik. Scheduled flights with conations to Blagoveshensk, Chita, Komsomolsk na Amure, Nikolaevsk na Amure, Sovetskaya Gavan with regular flights to Moscow and other major Russian cities.
The Trans Siberian Rail connection is from Vladivostok to Moscow via Khabarovsk, Chita, Ulan Ude, Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk, Tomsk, Omsk and Ekaterinburg with an International train connection to Kharbin, Beijing and Ulaan Baatar.

Destinations:

Kamchatka is named by UNESCO as one of the finest wildlife preserves in the world. There is an active volcano and recreation sports include giant Kamchatkan bear hunting along with salmon and trout fishing.
Sakhalin and Kuril Islands have unique flora and fauna with four climate zones from the tundra in the North to subtropical in the South. It is rich in seafood with great fishing and river rafting.
Yakutia is a remote region the size of Europe with the tundra on the north and the Siberian taiga on the south. Don’t miss the opportunity to explore Yakutia by taking the Lena River cruise.
Chukotka is a remote and hard to get to region which is right next to Alaska across from the Bering Straits. It is populated by native people and has an abundance of reindeer. Extreme river rafting is a popular sport.
The Primorie region with its capitol city of Vladivostok is the base of the Russian Pacific Fleet. Its location is near North Korea and the Chinese border that makes it a very important military base. In the nearby towns of Ussuriysk and Nakhodka are day tours to visit a Siberian Tiger preservation.
